Gaze Stabilization: Tip Card
1.Target must remain in focus, not blurry, and appear stationary
while head is in motion.
2.Perform exercises with small head movements
(45° to either side of midline).
3.Increase speed of head motion so long as target is in focus.
4.If you wear eyeglasses, be sure you can see target through lens
(therapist will give specific instructions for
bifocal / progressive lenses).
5.These exercises may provoke dizziness or nausea.
Work through these symptoms. If too dizzy, slow head
movement slightly. Rest between each exercise.
6.Exercises demand concentration; avoid distractions.
7.For safety, perform standing exercises close to a counter,
wall, corner, or next to someone.
